Let’s admit it, it sounds a bit utopian at first, but an application in this format exists. This application, called Makromusic and available in all digital stores, was developed by 5 university students. What is Makromusic?
Makromusic is a platform created by 5 university students who had no previous mobile application development experience together and more significantly created it as a result of 4 months of work. Makromusic provides a direct connection to Spotify and helps match the songs and podcasts you listen to with the people listening at that moment. You can talk to your matches and recommend songs to them. Moreover, you may also have the chance to see posts about your favorite artists and songs. With the leadership of Omer Erkmen’s investor mentorship, Makromusic got its first investment at $2.000.000 in 2021.
Two rounds of matches are possible in this application. The first of these is instant match and the second is match by profile. Instant matching helps match the songs you are listening to with different people who are listening at that moment. Matching by profile allows you to match with users similar to your music taste, as a result of the algorithm’s analysis of the type of music you listen to on your Spotify account.
Are Makromusic and Tinder alike?
Tinder and Makromusic have the same feature where you match with a partner and whether you like them or not you can pass them or you can communicate with them.
How Does Matching Happen?
If someone else is listening to the songs you are listening to at that moment, a match notification is sent to both parties. You can ignore or accept these notifications. If you accept, you need to wait for the other party to accept the match. After two-way match acceptance, you can chat with the person you matched with and make track recommendations.
Social
Another section where you can communicate with people on the platform is the social section. In this section, you can view people who share the music they listen to, comment on the posts they create, like them, and follow those people.
Discover
Another feature of Makromusic is that it allows you to see how many people are listening to which songs. In this section, you can listen to different types of music and instantly match with people listening to those songs. You can see the tracks listened to by all users on the platform and accompany them with a single click.
Makromusic Statistics
The application reached more than 25 thousand users in total within 4 days after its release. In addition, Makromusic has reached 1.4 million users in 8 months. It was announced on the platform’s social media account that the number of messages sent via the Makromusic platform in the first 15 days was 6,835,468.
