The Road to Success

What it takes to succeed?

Is there an entity called the road to success? In our minds, “If you follow these steps, you will be successful.” Is there a crossroads where we can say “If you think this way, you will be more successful”? If we specialize our examples a little more, Are the people who say “Success is relative.” really right? I think it would be beneficial to look for the answers to these questions within ourselves rather than in someone else. Success is an element with multiple active factors.  It can be exemplified with keywords such as; work, time, belief, persistence, process, focus, commitment, etc. Each of these factors is more valuable than the other and they all give a different meaning to every accomplishment. We will try to present a navigation for the road to success, dear reader. We wish you a good time reading.

What it takes to succeed?

To work

One of the indispensable factors for success is work. You need to work for the goal you want to achieve. There is no one who has achieved Overnight Success without any hard work. Even though talent is a factor that is claimed to be innate, you will never be successful if you do not work on your talents. If you are not successful in mathematics, it is not because you do not understand mathematics, it is because you do not study mathematics enough.

After saying “My goal is………”, gather the necessary analysis about your goal. You should not listen to people who give you advice on why not. After you decide where exactly to start working on your goal, all you have to do is produce a result by working in direct proportion to the time in line with the analysis you have made. As a result, what we are talking about here is not success itself. By setting short-term, small goals for yourself on your road to success, you can make progress faster and motivate yourself.  American entrepreneur Elon Musk says, “If you want to get ahead of your competitors and make a difference, you need to work twice as hard as them.” If you think you have deficiencies regarding your goals, interests, and the field in which you want to be successful, the only way to close these deficiencies is to work harder. Do not get bored by the word “work” here, because the time you spend on your goals and interests is much more important and fun than the time you spend doing the tasks you have to do. That’s why we think people should love what they do or learn to do what they love.

What it takes to succeed?

Persistence

The second factor required for success after working is persistence. Have you ever heard of an athlete training one week and not working the next week? Persistence lies behind every success story. It allows you to continuously progress towards your goal. As you continue to work consistently, you may get to know the person who will be your partner in the future, you will have an idea that will change your life, or you will witness events that will change your life. It is almost impossible to predict this, but it is obvious that you will not encounter any of these if you do not keep trying. Personal development expert and life coach Jim Rohn says; “As long as you keep knocking, you may find open doors.” However, although millions of people want to be successful, the percentage of people who are successful is between 10 and 20%. Although there are millions of people who want to diet, why everyone is not able to follow their diet? The answer is simple; due to discontinuity. I would like to continue with a few words from Jim Rohn. “Only those who seek will find things; if you are not looking for things, it is impossible to find them.” You will need to knock on dozens of doors to reach your goal, but if you stop after knocking on 10 doors, it will be impossible to reach your goals. Keep knocking on doors, you will find open doors, those doors will lead to magical worlds, dear reader.

What it takes to succeed?

Be happy

Be happy without wearing the crown of success. Before you can achieve success, you must make yourself happy. The reason for this is, people’s false belief that success will bring happiness. On the contrary, happiness brings success. What brings happiness is the feeling of gratitude. The feeling of gratitude teaches us to be content with what we have and makes us feel grateful for what we have. Belarussian-American entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk, known for his messages of gratitude, said in a video, “I know billionaires who cry in their Lamborghini model vehicles.” The fact that dozens of celebrities who seem successful and happy have unsteady family lives can also be included in this example. Happiness, like success, is not a station. It is quite natural to suddenly feel happy and celebrate this success when you achieve success, but will you maintain the enthusiasm for this success for months? Success, like happiness, is a process. You want something and you achieve it, will you go home and sit after success? Otherwise, will you continue working and set new goals for yourself? Where exactly does achieving happiness begin with these results? It is possible to ask more questions. Therefore, there is no limit to success.  It is of great importance to embrace happiness before even embarking on the journey of success.

What it takes to succeed?

Belief and Commitment

There are belief and commitment in every success story, success without belief is a coincidence. Just as it is necessary to work for success, belief is also an important factor in success. Steps taken with the vow to be better tomorrow than today constitute the cornerstones of success. A person who aims to move forward day by day with an analyzed road map and takes action in this direction is a person of faith. A person without faith and commitment can work for success for a limited time, but after a while, he will give up before reaching this goal due to lack of faith. It is necessary to visualize successes as goals. In order to achieve our goals, we have to believe in ourselves and the sanctity of our goals. This sacred feeling makes us embrace and love our failures! Failures are either experiences and sometimes they are rewards. That’s why there is no loss in a success story, there is experience. That is why the creators of success are failures. However, the sense of commitment to success adds a different meaning to belief and specifies it. In this way, it is much easier for a person to focus on the goals that he feels belong when he opens his eyes in the morning or when he closes his eyes at night. A person should describe the time he spends for success as an investment in himself.

Believing is half the success.

-Theodore Roosevelt

Conclusion

In this article, we tried to explain the necessary key concepts for the road to success by giving examples. The factors we need in the struggle for success are time-oriented, not competitor-oriented; They are faith to work, to ensure persistence over time, and a sense of commitment. Accomplishments are paths that will challenge but also improve us as we walk the path of life. Different people have walked these paths before, or we need to go through them in order to achieve success that can fascinate generations. For us, success is the reward we receive in return for an endless learning process in our development-oriented lives. People should live development-oriented lives, not for rewards so that they do not let their successes become bigger than their personalities. According to us; People’s greatest fear should not be death, but living a life below their potential. We hope you look to the future without doubts but with faith and self-confidence. Thank you for reading, dear reader.
