Unveiling the Power of Self-Awareness

In the modern world of the 21st century, we need to know and understand our strengths and weaknesses. In this century, it is almost an obligation to maximize our strengths, and should not waste time to make our weaknesses at the same level as our strengths, because it is an impossible and irrational act. Self-awareness as a concept covers our pros and cons, it unlocks abilities to learn about ourselves and get better at what we do in life.

Self-awareness focuses on one’s thoughts, emotions, behaviors, motivations, and understanding of the world. Self-awareness is the capacity to observe and embrace one’s own past experiences, beliefs, values, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threads, and goals. Self-aware people recognize their strengths and weaknesses and they build their circles according to these two important genesis. The importance of self-awareness lies in Personal Growth, Emotional Intelligence, values, and beliefs.

Self-awareness is separated into two states. These are Public Self-Awareness and Private Self Awareness.

Public self-awareness points out how we can appear to the people around us. The consciousness of public self-awareness affects us to act and behave in society to feel and appear socially more acceptable. In the meantime, there is a danger for this state as well. People may spend more time on what others think about time.

Private self-awareness focuses on one’s internal self. It helps us notice and reflect our true selves inside. These people are more introspective, they approach their feelings and reactions with more curiosity. If you are aware of your strengths and weaknesses, you would have the power to use your strengths and lessen, or eliminate your weaknesses. On the other hand, someone who is not self-aware will focus on their weaknesses to maximize them unlike a self-aware person should do.

There are several ways to develop self-awareness, nothing happens overnight, it takes time and effort to be more self-aware.

1- Analyze Your Strengths and Weaknesses

You can start to analyze yourself by making SWOT Analysis. SWOT Analysis focuses on exposing your Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. This analysis always tells you where to turn your head and what not to take seriously.

2 – Feedback From Others

Getting honest feedback from family, close friends, and colleagues is significant for self-awareness. When you ask for feedback from the people around you, their feedback gives you an external eye on your behaviors, thoughts, and attitude toward others.

3 – Monitor Your Self-Talk

Pay attention to your internal dialogue and remove negativity from your sentences. Also, do not put any limitations on your actions and your dreams. Categorize your thoughts, and question them for your future self. In these ways to monitor self-talk, the most crucial way is preaching blessings, affirmations, and positive talk.

In summary, Self-awareness is the core element of self-development for any human being. This article helps you to learn what is self-awareness and how can one develop their skills by becoming self-aware.  The road to self-awareness is a journey. It is an endless way which you should not stop.
